“I decided to name the advisory, Spa Wallah, after spending over 17 incredible inspirational years living and working in India. Wallah is a Hindi term used to describe a person who performs a specific duty or service and is highly skilled at the service offered, for example the Chai Wallah, a person who prepares, sells and serves tea, Dabba Wallah, a person who delivers lunch boxes, Rickshaw Wallah, a person who transports people around, Dhobi Wallah, a person who takes and washes cloths, Mithai Wallah, a person who makes and sells sweets, all specialist in their own field.

The Chai Wallah is seen as the backbone of Indian society. The man serves the elixir of togetherness, tea, to the masses, bringing together people from all walks of life. Savoured with delight, the hot steaming tea, often bursting with several spices including Cardamom and Ginger, buffalo milk, water and copious amounts of sugar, holds a special place in my heart. The Chai Wallah is a specialist in his field, tea is his livelihood and the respect he gives to his ingredients, equipment and to his customers is admirable, a true professional. The name Spa Wallah, was born out of this age-old tradition; a specialist with true passion, care and professionalism”.
